My career has included clinical research, trial management, NHS service development, diagnostic pathways, qualitative research and implementation evaluation.
I bring experience across academic research, NHS service delivery and primary care, with a practical understanding of what it takes to make research work in the NHS.
I understand not only how a study should be designed, but what it can take to make it work in practice. I have:
- Led multi-site NHS research across 26 research sites
- Secured research funding and taken studies through ethics, governance, NHS set-up and delivery
- Established and led an NHS-commissioned community liver assessment service
- Designed and independently delivered qualitative and process evaluations within primary care
- Worked directly with GPs, healthcare professionals, specialist nurses, practice managers, consultants and other NHS stakeholders
- Conducted patient-facing clinical assessment using FibroScan
- Developed and evaluated diagnostic pathways
- Published 12 research papers, including 9 as lead or first author
- Completed a PhD at the University of Southampton
This combination of research methodology and practical NHS experience means I understand not only how a study should be designed, but what it can take to make it work in practice.
